Kiddie Carnival 2007

This was Jolie's first year at playing MAS (masquerade). Her section was called Show Girls and were a part of Jamaal Magloire's Band (basketball player) Viva Las Vegas. The day was wonderful, great weather and a great turn out. She played alongside my God-daughter Mya.

Here they are with NBA basketball great Jamaal Magloire:

Jamaal's Group - Viva Las Vegas won Band of the Year for 2007.

Congratulations!!!!

Two Turtle Doves....

and a partridge -- wait right there! Okay so these birds have been nesting in our backyard for awhile now. Who are they? My husband says they are Turtle Doves. They look like Turtle Doves to me but when searching the internet some people say they are not found in North America.

I would love to hear what you all think. I guess I'm still on the fence ;-)

Calling ALL Bloggers!

I would love a little help with naming this one. This bag is my shabby chic contribution to summer. So far I am considering Chantal, Noel, Candace and Hyacinth. What do you think I should name her?

Home Alone!

Today is the first day of my week off. My daughter is at her Grandmother's house spending time with her Auntie. She comes back tonight so I had better make good use of this time.

So far today I have made pancakes, turkey bacon and banana fritters for breakfast. It is already so humid and there doesn't seem to be any air circulating in my studio even with the window open.

I am getting ready to list my newest Slim-line wallet. This time I used suede in a gorgeous hunter green tone. Suede and I usually don't agree but this time we came to an understanding.

The interior is a beautiful vintage floral cotton. I started this wallet a few weeks ago but finished it yesterday. Here is a picture of the inside showing the hidden zippered coin compartment:

Home Dec Once again!

I just finished custom cushion covers for a client of mine. She liked the cherry blossom fabric that I had used on an evening clutch which is available in my shop.

These cushion covers are 18" x 18" and have a zippered opening in the back.

You can see the evening clutch here:

There was a War in our Backyard

To celebrate Canada Day we hosted a BBQ for the family. We rounded out the night with a crackling fire to warm our chilled bodies.

As it got darker we waited for the battle call. The neighbours from across the ravine fired their warning shots. My husband had to retaliate with his own.

Then it was on - the sky lit up with colourful lights and all you could hear was what sounded like a battle of the worlds.

Of course we were battling with fireworks! Our guests were impressed. In the city neighbourhoods don't really go at it like ours.

Anyhow, sit back and enjoy my compilation of what happened last night. We are already talking about the show for the next holiday.

They Grow up so Fast!

It seems like yesterday when Agent 31 came into my life. She's a big girl now and ready for grade 1. Here she is at her SK (Senior Kindergarten) graduation.

The cake was delicious in case you were wondering.

There's a New Man in my life

and his name is Kobe! He's good looking, strong, powerful and promises to take me where I've never been before. I can't wait to put my hands on him and make him work for me. I understand he does leather the way I like my leather done.

Okay so I'm talking about my new industrial sewing machine. I found him on Craigslist and bought him off a guy who had him for only 5 months. I tested it out on some scraps and am just in love with the quality stitching. He was delivered just last night so I haven't used him to his fullest potential yet. I'm a little scared - you know how it is when you get something new. You just are worried that you might mess something up and you won't be able to fix it. Well the YOU might very well be just ME. I hope that is not the case though. I'll be sure to post updates on how we adjust to each other, so keep an eye out.

Polka Dots Polka Dots!

Isn't this the coolest leather print? I'm really excited about this one. The dots are embossed on the leather. This wristlet pouch is fully lined with a houndstooth pattern. The strap is detachable so you can wear it on your wrist or remove the strap to use it as a clutch or pouch.

This pouch will be available in my etsy shop http://sewlutionsbyamo.etsy.com soon, so look out for it! Here is a view of the inside

Green Leaf

This is my latest wrist purse. I have reversed appliqued a suede leaf on the sage green leather flap with decorative stitching. I rather like how it turned out and hope you do too. This one is One of a Kind!

My Trip to the Farm

Today I helped supervise my daughter's SK class. We went to the Green Acres Farm.

I was the lucky parent who only had to supervise 2 children. Two of them were a no show. I have to say though, my girls were perfectly behaved, not like the raging pack of boys a few rows down the isle on the bus. We had a trailer ride around the farm and our tour guide explained about the different animals they had there.
We even got to see the shearing of sheep!

You might recognize Agent 31 on the right =>

Enjoy the rest of the pictures!
