Belted out the door

I have been working on this custom belt for a VIP client of mine.  I am loving the colours he chose.  It left my studio today and I already miss it.

Shrooms

For most of my life I have feared mushrooms.  I don't eat them, because the thought of them makes me go ick.  Lately though, I have had this strange fascination with them.  I can now appreciate their beauty.  I guess I have Pinterest to blame.  If only I could get them off my lawn.  So please go on over to my Pinterest page and look at all the pretty shrooms, I have accumulated.

If you don't have an account and would like an invite, please let me know.  FYI, I can now be found on Facebook, so please visit me there and like me if you dare.

Thrift Store find gets a slipcover makeover

Here is a perfect example of how a slipcover can change the look of a piece. This was a thrift store find. Nice bones, wrong colour and a little worn. I made the slipcover from a low pile chenille that fits like a glove.

Stay tuned for more transformations.

My Newest Addition

My very good friend who works in a real-estate office rescued this 30 year old serger from a grow op and gifted it to me! I was thrilled to have this vintage beauty in my studio. After a tune-up and several broken needles (well, I had to get to know him, didn't I?), we are off to a great start.

I have named him Herbie in honour of his 'roots'. BTW did you know that an upper looper needle costs $40?!? -- Let's just say that I won't be breaking any more needles in a hurry.

Stay tuned for exciting projects.....
