Little Touches

In between working on orders and trying to get my new sewing room ready, I have made a pincushion and a pressing station. I used this fun quilting cotton and wool felt for the base of the pincushion.

This pressing station is awesome! It is just the perfect height for me and I can house my pressing tools underneath.

I was inspired by Patty of All Dunn Designs. Check out her amazing sewing room http://www.alldunndesigns.com/id35.htm

Meet Inspector #31

Her face has been altered to protect the innocent but her attitude shines through.

Inspector#31 is in charge of Quality Control. She tells me if something is ugly. Her dreaded phrase 'mama that's ugly' will send a project straight to the recyle bin. She keeps me on my toes, that's for sure!

Old World Charm from a new age Girl!

Introducing Bronwyn!

This charming bag is made from a tapestry chenille that is heaven to the touch. The fabric was one of my great finds and it took me almost 2 years to use it. I also used a dark green velvet that not only adds contrast but compliments it as well. The brass hardware adds that medieval touch me thinks.

It's been awhile

It's true I haven't been posting as frequently, but that does not mean that I have been slacking. I have been juggling so much lately I'm surprised I'm still standing. I am currently in the process of moving my studio from its downstairs location to its new upstairs location. There was a lot of planning on my part before anything was moved. Here are pics of my downstairs location just before all hell broke loose.

The set up was nice but I needed a bit more room and so does my daughter. She will be moving in when I move out.
Status: So far 99% of the furniture and fabric have been moved upstairs. Shelves have been mounted into position. Next step will be to take everything down patch what holes I don't need and paint. This painting and patching will be done on both rooms - so I don't know how long it will take. I hope my husband contractor will be in Speedy Gonsales mode. I can't wait to show you my new studio!
I'd love to hear your opinions.
