I'm Bringing Saddle back!

I have made many of these over the years, but have not put any up on Etsy for a long time now.

The Sienna leather saddle bag purse is one of those purses that you just grab and go with. I did my reverse applique technique on this one. It is backed with lace. Leather and lace together without looking naughty!
You can see more here.

A bed fit for a Princess

Agent 31's bunk bed needed a cover, and what 6 year-old doesn't want to pretend they are in a tent. This is the glammed up version.

This picture shows that I attached the flaps between the seams. This project took 5 metres of fabric. When I went back to get more for the bottom bunk, I was SOL!

Trifold Wallet

Tri, tri, try again!
This is my prototype. I should not have backed the zippered compartment with suede, it made it too bulky. My next ones will have 2 snaps and I won't do the rivets.

Here are some more pictures, let me know what you think.

Spring into some Home Dec Action!

I've been meaning to recover my sofa's seat cushions for like a year now. I finally did it. I was lucky to find the same fabric as the sofa, but it wasn't the same shade and not enough to do the whole thing.

I used a funky fabric for the gussets, which I will tie in by doing cushion covers and incorporate the rest of it in drapery some how.

These cushions need a good pressing but I was pooped by the time I finsihed. I'm glad it is finally done and it only took an afternoon.

Onwards, to the next project!

A Writer's Best Friend

If you've just finished your thesis, body of work, and have been searching for the perfect cover to encase your thoughts, then look no more!

This is the 4th one I've made and has to be the best one yet. I'm seriously considering doing some writing of my own, just so I can put it in one of these.

Actually, you don't have to be a writer. You can place your children's art work, your art work or even your favourite recipes.

You would make quite an impression carrying your resume in it!

It even looks great just laying on a coffee table.

It's Logistical my Dear Watson

My newest design was a big challenge in figuring the best way to piece it together. I like how it turned out and am torn between keeping it for myself or putting it up for sale in my shop.

Well here she is!

H2O has been added to the mix

Many of you already know about Agent 31 who is my 6 year-old daughter and in charge of Quality Control. Well, in 2008 I have added H2O into the Sewlutions' studio. Simply put,

>>>>H2O = Hubby to Organize<<<<<

I thought I would utilize his talent for effective organization plus I got tired of him commenting on my 'mess'. The holiday rush really showed me that I need to work smarter.

Those beautiful flowers you see above are what he gave me for Valentine's day. I don't know the name but they make me smile whenever I look at them. Agent 31 made these lovely Rose buds:

Help Needed because

it's all Greek to me!
I have been hoarding this fabulous print for something spectacular, it just hasn't come to me yet. It looks Grecian but I'm not sure. I am hoping that someone out there in cyber world will know.

Say Hello to February!

You started with a snow storm, let's hope you go out like a spring day (I'm really hoping!). This is the view from my studio.

January was another busy and fruitful month. This month I plan to do some home dec sewing. I found this really cool fabric and plan to make new drapes for my living room. A friend thought it would make a nice bag. Who knows, you might end up seeing a bag with that fabric in my shop.

Newest addition to my Work Room

My Christmas present from my husband was a new industrial sewing machine. It is another Kobe but this one is a straight stitch. It has an energy saver digital motor. What does that mean? Well, you can't hear it when it is turned on and the only time it draws electricity is when I actually depress the foot pedal. This digital motor also enables me to control the speed. Having said this, security had to be stepped up, what with Agent 31 running around. There are now taped lines on my studio floor letting her know where she can not go and she is not allowed in the studio un-attended. Wouldn't want any nasty accidents.
Please excuse the mess. Oh and that's my favourite drill making a guest appearance.

Just me.. and ... my Camera...

underneath the mistle.....Okay let me stop right there! I was trying to get a picture of my camera, how does one do that without getting into the shot. So here it is!

Oh no, I'm exposed without lipstick!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In other news, my Indie Glam Chenille tote was featured on the front page of Etsy in the wee hours, and I missed it!
This is the bagThe list was curated by another Etsy seller called PicturesofLily. She combined combinations of grey and red and called it Elephants and Lipstick. What a brilliant name!
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree....
I'm sorry I didn't dress you up like previous years, it's just that, well, you know, things have been crazy around here. I promise to do better next year ;-)
A few weeks ago my camera broke - it just stopped working, no warning signs or anything. I bought myself a new one, it is a Canon Powershot S5IS. It has a lot of potential but it is taking me a long time to figure out all the bells and whistles.
I decided to try out this particular one with the tree. It is a black and white but certain colours are highlighted. I still need to work on it though. Hopefully I will be able to on my time off.
Sneak Peak
I am working on a new line of Necktie Scarfs. I envision either a man or woman wearing it. The construction is similar to how a necktie is made but much easier to put on.
I'm still stuck on the name so if you have suggestions you would like to share, please do so.
I would also love your feedback on how it looks as well as if you think I should market it to a man, woman or both.
Thanks for you help!
I know the Secret!
Well not that secret. The secret of how to wear pointy shoes aka. cockroach killers!
I think heels, especially the pointy toe ones are so sexy. I haven't been able to wear either of them - until now. I spotted these gems yesterday and tried on the only size I could reach. They didn't feel high and my toes weren't being squeazed as if in a vise.
I ususally wear size 8.5 in boots, but these babies are a size 10! s
So I guess the secret is to go up a size or more.
